Oh really?
So someone I know was telling me how they lost some weight on their own (10 lbs) a few weeks ago and I told them congrats and glad to hear it (which i truly am for him), then he went on saying it was harder for him to do it then the way I did it.
Then he went on to tell me about a "Friend" who had gastric bypass two years ago and he now weighs more now than before the surgery and that it happens to a lot of people.
I then started to I tell him that I feel like I have my head in the game and that will not happen to me, he cut me off and said "Your only a few months in and trust me you'll go back to your old ways"..
My only response was "Oh, OK", why didn't i go off on him?
I could care less about whatever anyone thinks, I am doing this for me not ANYONE else (well maybe my wife and kids).
What I love is this same person will change the story when I hit my two year anniversary while still doing good, he will claim his "Friend" had the surgery for 5 years...
This way of some people's thinking just gives me the additional drive to prove them all wrong.
I have my head in the game..
I started my weight loss on August of 2013 at 416 lbs, then got down to 380 lbs (on my own before the surgery) in November ( surgery was the day before Thanksgiving) and now i am down to 273 lbs (107 lbs down since surgery, around 5 months, or 143 total over 9 months).
I have a great support system, between my wife and kids, and my online support groups.
I know if i need help, they are all here to help me on this journey, but ultimately it's up to me and my own choices.
I mean, even if someone loses weight without having weight surgery they could gain it back just as easily as someone who had surgery.
